Boricua soldier killed in Afghanistan

The soldier Louie Ramos Velazquez, 38, of Camuy, died yesterday at the war in Afghanistan. His parents live in Puerto Rico, while their children live in the United States.

Ramos Velazquez's remains are expected to come to the island over the next ten days and be buried in his village. Yet they have not revealed the circumstances in which the soldier died.

Roark will not reveal his record

Richard Roark Annunziato announced this afternoon the Supreme Court not to disclose to the media his confidential file.

"None of the documents comprising the record compiled by the Committee on Character must be produced," read the motion filed by Roark Annunziato.

"Because of its importance, we must reiterate that this lawyer flatly denied that the requested documents, as well as any other part of the dossier prepared by the Committee on Character, will be released to the media, who have appeared this distinguished judicial forum or any other person without the prior permission of the undersigned, "Roark said in the motion.

The lawyer was convicted of a misdemeanor in federal court after pleading guilty to providing false information on a federal report on the seizure of money in a drug raid, which led in 2004 when he was a federal agent.

Roark Annunziato was hired the day after the convicted ex-Senator Hector Martinez resigned. The contract was made for Carmelo Ríos office, even though unknown to the legislator.

PDP secretary accuses government officials of mockery to the poor

Thalia's mother dies
